When I pop somebody on the flop and they bet into me again on the turn...I start thinking 2 pair, set, overpair, etc. I guess it is player dependent, but read-free, I go into call down mode on the turn on this particular hand. That might be somewhat weak advice, but it's how I've learned to play it through experience.

looks g00t.
Lonnie has a good point, but BB would have played the same way with say, 8T.
The turn raise is something you have to determine based on your opponent. Be less likely to raise a passive player than an aggressive one.
note: I think BB made a mistake by not letting you bet the flop. Your raise will knock out players, and give him the worst odds possible to chase the straight.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.
