cant remember what stats they show at party, but personally I just look for tables with the highest average pot. This is the main factor but tables with > 40% players per flops is kinda essential - but this usually goes hand in hand with high pot tables. I play super TAG.. so look for super loose/high pot tables to camp on. If you play Lag, looking to run over the weak tighties I'd guess you'd look for < 30% players to flop.

So theres the two factors you wanna take into account, but they totally relate to your game style. You wanna play at a table where the majority of peeps are playing opposite style to you.

I try and find a table where the people on my left don't defend their blinds often and the people on my right don't raise preflop often I don't really care how anybody on the other side of the table is playing.

Table selection: Find a table where people like throwing chips at each other. This means lots of players to the flop and big pots. You want people to be throwing away their money for a while so try to avoid tables that have several players with very short stacks or getting close to all-in.

Seat selection: Assuming you're now at a table where there are people that like throwing their money away, figure out which people these are. A quick indication is people with low stacks (but not too low as to be not worth your time), and if you have access to player stats, obviously look for the looser players. People usually throw their money leftwards (because people to the left have position on people to the right), so sit to their left and start catching their money. Following this principle, if you see several small stacks sitting next to each other and a very big stack sitting to their left, the big stack may have been collecting their money. Try to sit directly to the left of these short stacks because there is a good chance they are the ones that like throwing away money.

TIP: If your initial impressions of the players turn out to be wrong after the first several orbits, and you find yourself in a seat that you don't like, there's no reason to stick around. Just leave and find a better seat/table.

TIP: Iso-raising helps to ensure that the money stops at you and doesn't trickle any more than necessary to the players to your left.

TIP: A LAG to your left that raises you frequently can make your life a pain, increase your variance, and/or make you go on tilt, so move to another seat/table if you find yourself seated such. OTOH, a TAG to your left isn't a big problem unless they are consistently out-playing you when you find yourself in a pot against them (and TAGs to your left can be a benefit if they are bad at blind defense).

From Fnords stickied post up top (which has a goldmine of info.) http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...ic.php?t=19103

Speed online table selection
o Multi-rocks are easy to spot with a fair sample size from other tables/sessions
o Good players tend to exercise good bankroll management, hence:
. Anyone with less than 10BB in front of them is extremely suspect
. Anyone that buys in for an amount other than the 25BB default is also suspect. If someone sits down with $126 at a 2/4 game it's probably all the money in their account.
o Giving position to a player with a very short stack is a non-issue. They will probably go broke soon via picking a pretty starting hand and taking it all the way.
o Anyone in a hand (outside of a blind) is more likely to be the table sucker.
o When in doubt, look elsewhere.
o It's hard to go too wrong giving the multi-rock position and seeing what develops.

I usually look for high % per flop no matter what. Even if your aggro, i don't think 30% tables are very profitable. I rather play loose weak people over tight weak people.

However i usually select table with people who have low stacks in limit, because usually, people who sits down at tables with huge stacks are sharks, and thats not good for you.

Table selection do play a huge role, its really worth taking the time to choose your table. I multi table and sometimes after 2 hours, i get like 40 BB profit at a table and only 5 BB at the other, only because one of them has 2-3 sharks and the other is full of fish.

I have one problem with table selection: Mainly most of the tables are full or 1, max 2 places left. So it's pretty difficult to employ any seating edges, or even sit down at a table I like sometimes. At Party there are so many full tables with around 5-7 people already on the waiting list. How would one get around this?

If I see a table that looks good but only has one or two seats available, I just evaluate the seats as I would anyway, and if I don't like them, I find another table. Even if table A is fishier than table B, if table B has a much better seat then I'm sitting at table B. I don't run into the problem of not finding enough good tables on Party.

However, I sometimes run into this problem on the less-populated Crypto sites (which I frequently play to clear bonuses). I still steer clear of the really bad tables, but if I find a sub-par seat on a decent table, I take it anyway, and consider the edge I'm losing by sitting in a not-so-good seat as balanced by the experience I gain from having to play seated differently than I would like. And (assuming the table is okay) you can still make money in a poor seat, just not as much or as easily.
