Note: yes, I am kidding. I did not think he would call with a worse hand but I thought he might fold a better one.
Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter
Preflop: Hero is UTG with A , T .
Hero raises, 4 folds, BB 3-bets, Hero calls.
Flop: (6.33 SB) 6 , 3 , J (2 players)
BB bets, Hero raises, BB calls.
Turn: (5.16 BB) 9 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.
River: (7.16 BB) 7 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.
Final Pot: 9.16 BB
Shouldn't have pushed my luck though, this happened just as I was posting this...

Hand 2: Why not bet/fold the river?
|

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

I thought that after the previous hand he might lay down nothing to a bet this time, but he still might bet a worse A high. (He was one of those "to the river with any ace any time" types.)

For some reason on Party 3/6 6-max, every single player autobets if you bet the flop and turn and then check to them on the river.
