Villian is 45/15/1 over about 50 hands.

Anyone willing to cap the turn here will probably b/c the river if checked to. Agreed?

if your c/r he might not 3bet the river

if you lead he can raise and you can get 3bets in

you're better at math then me, runs some frequencies on the end and calculate your EV.

I'm thinking it is has more to do with deception and meta-game than math...

If he's got AA the river's probably getting capped no matter what I do.

If I lead the river and he's got Kx, there's no reason for him to raise since I'm already repping at least a K by betting the river again after he caps the turn. Some guys will raise anyways but this guy seems a bit too passive for that.

But if I pause for about 3 seconds then check the river, he might interpret that as me having some kind of epiphany like "OMFG wtf did I 3bet QQ on the turn for. Better check-call." He bets his Kx, then SURPRISE! and pot's too big to fold.

I guess the downside is that he might check behind Kx on the river but when is the last time you saw someone do a thing like that?

Not only that, but making plays like that makes the whole table shit their pants whenever they're in a hand against you. It's just sooooo good for your image.

Ya i think I missed an opportunity there.

in that situation, i pause before calling the turn cap, like... does he really have the K? is my JJ good?
then call, and immediately check, like, i'm not sure i'm good anymore after he capped!!!
yeah, then boom

c/r the river.

I think it's close, but he'd have to be epically retarded to raise a river donk without exactly AA.

If this was live, the river bet is a must because live players suck at river bets. Then again, I'm 5-betting the turn live...

Probably a pause anywhere on the turn or river is enough to make him think he's got me. Dance, puppet, dance!
