Let's say I have raised from the Button with JJ and there are 3 others still in pre-flop.
The flop comes out AA7 rainbow or KK2 rainbow, and UTG bets....and it's folded to me on the button.
This one always drives me nuts. If I figure UTG as a good palyer, then why is he betting here with top trips? It doesn't make sense. Is he trying to rep, I ask myself??
But, if I figure UTG has some fishy tendencies, then I think "well he's just the kind of player who might lead out with top trips, but then maybe he's smart enough to know that we might think that?....
GGRRRRRRRRR
Anyway, does anyone have any advice on how to navigate through this.
I figure I have two options, and calling isn't one of them. I either suck it up and fold, or reraise. I have no problem with the reraise, but when he reraises back, then I'm folding (and still wondering)
Help...

since you got position, raise.
if they 3bet back at you, call. fold the turn unimproved.

thanks Hyper
Good advice
On the "tricky" part, though, if UTG did hit top trips, should he be betting or check/raising, or check/calling and bet out on the turn and river.
I am trying to figure out what UTG might have based on his leading bet, and that is a big part of the confusion for me. I would not bet here with top trips, so the UTG bet seems like a mixed signal.
Based on your experience, what do solid players in UTG's poistion usually do here.?

Easy boards to play, Ax almost always calls the flop.
Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed) converter
Preflop: Fnord is Button with 9 , J .
5 folds, CO calls, Fnord raises, 1 fold, BB calls, CO calls.
Flop: (6.33 SB) A , A , 7 (3 players)
BB checks, CO checks, Fnord bets, BB calls, CO calls.
Turn: (4.66 BB) Q (3 players)
BB checks, CO checks, Fnord checks.
River: (4.66 BB) 6 (3 players)
BB bets, CO calls, Fnord folds.
Final Pot: 6.66 BB
Results in white below:
BB has Ac Ad (four of a kind, aces).
CO has 8d 7d (two pair, aces and sevens).
Outcome: BB wins 6.66 BB.

With 2 outs, you need, what 20:1? Do you count the A's as weel(or K on KKX) board)

May also be a small PP played aggressively? I had a Tagg w/ 88 in the blinds pushing hard against my TT on a similar flop last night.

arctic, in your example of AA7 and UTG bets out, i'm putting him on a 7 not an A. anybody with an A in EP is going to slowplay it to get more money in the pot. anybody with a 7 is going to try and scare everyone out (which he did). raise him with your JJ. when there are two A's on the board, it's a lot less likely that anybody was dealt one of the 2 remaining A's.
