Or am I doing something wrong? I am seriously fucking frustrated. Worst run of cards ever. Like 150BB now. I have never lost so much money to shit players ever.

What should I do? Become more passive? Wait for the luck to change? Cry? Give up limit?

I don't understand why I am losing so much to these awful players, when I was beating similary awful players on Party quite easily. It's either awful variance, or there must be some adjustments I'm not making.

Unfortunatly limit is by far the fastest way to clear the bonus, so I'm not going to switch back to omaha or NL (which I'm winning pretty easily at) just yet...

Yeah, those are just bad beats. Try not to let them get you down. I went through a downswing myself about a month ago, and it shattered my confidence for a while. I moved down in the limits, seriously reconsidered my game, and began reviewing Small Stakes Hold 'Em. I also took a break from the game, and worked on trying to divorce myself from looking at my chips as money. Now I'm slowly, but surely, seeing my bankrole stablize and begin to rebuild. I have some bad sessions, but now a greater majority of my sessions are ending in the positive. So, take a deep breath, work on your game, keep posting hands, and maybe take a break for a while to collect your thoughts.

For Hand #1, that other player was an idiot for calling you on that flop bet. He had like 3 outs to work with. However, once he turned a 2nd nut flush draw, I can't fault him for staying in. You played it the way I would, just keep betting until you hit resistance. It sucks, but most of the time he won't hit his flush and you'll profit nicely.

Hand #2 you played basically the way I would have. From the way your opponent played, he probably had Ax. My guess is his pre-flop entry was most likely a mistake. But, he flopped a gutshot, and had that overcard. I give him 6 outs (I remove one overcard as an out because there are times that he'll be beaten even if he hits his overcard, depending on the kicker). This gives him about 6.8 to 1 odds to make a hand on the turn. With the pot laying with 1 to 9 odds by the time it got to him, he had the proper odds to call your flop bet. His turn call is much more suspect, and a borderline decision, although with implied odds and the way you've been betting, I think it can be correct. Obviously, the ace hit his hand, so the raise on the river was correct.

If he didn't have an ace and instead had a four-rag, his line of thinking would still be correct, because he would have the open-ended straight possibility with 8 outs. Of course, his pre-flop calls would be horrible.

I would have played it just the way you did, although I'd be tempted to show down the hand. My curiousity would want to know just what he was calling me down with.

I've called to see a few of them. Often they turn over something awful and make me cry.

Since the first post I've had: SB call 3bet with 85, flop two pair, boat on the turn. I had KK; my AA cracked by flopped quads (5s); and this:

I've gotten AA quite a few times today. But I'm clearly down off it.

I see no reason to bet this river in second hand. I rather spend that dollar calling his river bet. If he have nothing or a small pair, they usually bet for you anyway.

And theres a slim chance his reraise could be a bluff.(ive seen it all)

I dont see what this bet accomplish

The tables are full of people will call down with a low pair. If they have TP on the flop they will call down. If they have a low pp they will call. Perhaps with both A and K on the board I shouldn't have bet that one, though.

On your original question, dealing with bad beats is part of being a good limit player. Read the bad beat section and the "Newbie Circle of Death" in the Beginner's Circle; it will help.

Yeah, I understand dealing with bad beats.

I guess my original post might be misconstrued. I didn't meant to be askign what to do about dealing with bad beats. More about what kind of things I should look for in my game when I'm trying to address the problems. More "how might I adjust my game to minimise my losses to bad beats."

Eg. It seems I might be compounding the bat beats by betting too aggressivly at times, specificly on the river, against players who I know have been chasing.

Lamaros i know low pairs call for sure, but i think they will very often bet too.

Actually theres 3 options here:

#1 he have nothing

#2 he has some sort of pair.

#3 he have you beat

At this level, #1 and #2 will very often bet this river. So checking the river is much better vs #1 and its "ok" vs #2. However betting is very bad against #3.
