Hi guys,
I would like to thank with all my heart these people.

hypermegachi, fnord, xanadu, elipsesjeff , tylerk, iopq, ihategnomes, jmontis, nehmer, outphase, demiparadigm, chardrian, pokerfanatic, sharkbait, aaag, bencathers, euphorism, ltrain
.

If you have ever replied to my post and helped me out but not on this list I apologise.

I was going through a HORRIBLE downswing. just after moving up to 3-6 B&M started the swing. moved down to 2-4 b&m, it continued, moved down to Party 1-2, it continued, moved down to 0.5-1 party..still went on. confidence was shit, and was aggravated by playing chicken some hands. at one time, the only hands i could come up with was only second best hands (even with a very low vpip).

but you guys were awesome. gave me AWESOME advice how to stick it out, play correct and the FAITH THAT THINGS WILL BE BACK TO NORMAL.

well I dont know if I am out of the downswing yet, but my confidence is back and I am winning again. . No more coldcalling with stuff that I always reraise with . My aggression/ value betting is still a lot off (my value betting was always a problem ).

Thank you guys AND THE FTR FORUM for the experience that whenever i have my downswing, i can always read and realise that players FAR BETTER, FAR SMARTER, FAR MORE EXPERIENCED than me ALL GO THROUGH THE SAME THING.

Thanks again folks (and for putting up with the whine !!)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am playing 4-8$ B&M 3 times a week. Yes, I am playing out of my roll. But the competetion is same as 2-4, pots are bigger, I am playing tight, and if i drop some heavy amount, i intend to replenish it from my regular salary/savings and still continue to try to improve . I have decided that I am going to put away 250$ of my salary to my poker bankroll account till it reaches 400 BB of 4-8$.

So far in my B&M 4-8 adventure all sessions 6 hours each:
Session 1: -81
Session 2: + 96
Session 3: +235
Session 4: +297

so hopefully i am out of my downswing .
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2 hands from yesterday at 4-8$ B&M.

Hand 1:
Hero is 6-6 in UTG+2. ( loose call from early, but table is not that much action table, so not anticipating a raise. )

Preflop: UTG+1 calls, Hero calls, MP1 calls, CO calls, SB calls.

Flop: 6-9-J (2 suited board).
UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, MP1 calls, CO raises, SB calls, UTG+1 calls, Hero 3 bets, MP1 calls, CO caps, SB folds, UTG+1 folds.

Turn: 6-9-J-2
Hero bets, MP1 calls, CO calls

River: 6-9-J--2-9 (flush not completed)
Hero checks, MP1 checks, CO bets, Hero calls, MP1 calls.

Hero wins with full house, MP1 shows busted flush draw.

I put 1 villain on a flush draw, the other on 2 pair with all the action on the flop. i did play it like chicken. I should have led out on the river (or check raise the river). dont know why, was worried someone had 2 pair of jacks and nines on flop and made a better boat....SICK PLAY BY ME.

--------------------------------------------------
Hand 2:
KILL POT. 8$-16$

should I have bet the turn ? and fold to a raise or call down ?
Preflop: Hero is MP1 with K-Js diamonds
UTG+1 calls, UTg+2 calls, Hero calls, MP2 calls, Mp3 calls, CO calls, Button calls ( what the fu##? family pot on a kill pot )

Flop: K-2-2
UTG+1 bets, UTg+2 calls, Hero raises, MP2---------> Button folds, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls.

Turn: K-2-2-10 wanted to check so that someone with a 2 cant check raise
UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero checks

River: K-2-2-10 -8
UTg+1 bets, UTg+2 folds, Hero calls.

UTg+1 shows K-9, Hero wins with better kicker
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hand 3:
Kill Pot 8-16
Hero is on the Kill button - button with A-8o
Preflop:
UTg+1 calls, MP1 calls, CO raises, Hero calls, UTg+1 calls, MP1 calls

Flop: 4-6-8 2 suited board
UTg+1 checks, MP1 bets, CO raises, Hero 3 bets, MP1 after thinking for 2 mins folds, CO calls.

Turn: 4-6-8-6
CO checks, Hero checks

River: 4-6-8-6-2
CO bets, Hero calls
CO shows KK

I thought CO had AK-AQ, no read. Usually people try to raise on kill pots to make it heads up and thought my TPTK was good. was the 3 betting on flop TOO MUCH and OVERPLAYING MY HAND. btw, MP1 folded QQ. put someone on 2 pair or set. awesome fold i guess.

keep it up, at least by playing 4-8 you avoid the ridiculous B&M rakes in the lower games.
take your ego out of the equation and judge the situation dispassionately

Glad to see things are turning around for you. I get reminded all the time (at this forum and at the tables) how much I have to learn and the best part is you can always get better.

Hand #1 Raise/Cap the river. You will be winning more times than you will be losing and it does not come up that often to worry too much about it.

Hand #2 Bet the Turn. If you get checkraised, stare at the person, ask him if he has a king or trip 2's, read him for tells and call him down if you have any doubt.

Hand #3 Actually, with the pot as big as it was, I like the 3 bet. You can't fold here, a call would show too much weakness, so a raise is the best option and hope for no overcards. On a 6 turn, I probably bet the turn and checkthrough the river. also, do yourself a favor and make a note that MP1 and CO are the type of scared players you should love to play with. If you see them again, put them on your left.
