any exprienced limit players want to share their standards for number of different type(LAG/LAP/TAG/TAP) of players using PT+GT/PV to select a good table to play on?

I want position on a loose and bad player (with lots of money) and to give position to a tight player who's going to fold lots of hands. Everything else is gravy.

I like having a loose player one or two seats to my left so I can check and raise trapping the field when I have the goods. If possible, I like to have the rock to my immediate left and have Mr. aggressive to his immediate left.

I use at least 30 hands before I really even start to classify. Even then I will only classify players on the extreme ends. You can get an idea if someone is at 0% VP$IP and 60% VP$IP. Usually I won't start looking at the PFR and Agg factors until about 60 hands or so.

Just look at what cards showdown when you don't have enough hands on someone. If someone shows down K9o, or A-rag, you know they are probaby loose and not very good

I try to play conservatively for 20-30 hands, to see how things are flowing. But I think 100 or more hands starts to give you more information on individuals.

I had a question along these lines and figued it fits well in this thread...

For those of you who are big into table selection, can you give us others some ideas for distinguishing between good/bad tables and seats? Specifically, do you leave 4 tables open and collect stats before you play? Do you join the wait list? Are you choosing full tables to watch? I find myself too impatient to find the perfect seat and accumlate stats on those players I don't have any numbers on yet.

Thanks

For the Party 2/4 game I always have 4 tables going (I try to only play 3 right now). I usually wait until the BB instead of posting when I sit down. This lets me see some hands and accumulate stats. Sometimes If I know there are a few TAggs at the table or I see that it is tight I won't even wait for the blind to reach me and I will bail. I don't like to sit and watch a table much before taking a seat. I think that time is better spent watching hands while waiting for the blinds and doing a couple of orbits.

I rarely get on wait lists. On the good tables there are usually long waiting lists and by the time you get there, often there's about 5 other TAggs already there and the fish are broke.

Basically, don't be afraid to table jump looking for a good table. Once I find a good one I milk it until the table dies, fish go broke or I reach my limit for the day.
