I see all this lame hype about WinHoldEm and other bots trying to play texas hold-em. But really... why on earth would you make a bot to play texas holdem when you could make a bot to play Stud? Stud is card counting heaven. Collusion in Stud would be just a killer, but possibly easy to detect through back-end scans. But even without collusion, a stud bot could count cards better than any human.
Does anyone here claim to be an expert in poker bots?

Bots are illegal, thus not discussed here.

I was not advocating the use of, or intending to discuss the development of a stud bot. I am only intersted in finding out Stud Bots exist out there that are playing against me currently.
I don't believe any commercial programs exist in the mass market. But there might be individuals who have built them for themselves.

Why play holdem when you can play stud?
|
I thought about your commentline here. I've played stud for a long time. I dont play it much online mostly due to the multi-tabling issues. I do from time to time playing Stud 8/B. As for a bot, I have never heard of one.

The edge you would gain from keeping perfect track of the cards over an otherwise equally skilled player who is slightly worse at keeping track of dead cards would be minimal. There's a lot more to stud than just remembering cards.

You wouldn't run the bot in a game against decent opponents. You would run multiple tables at .5/1 or 1/2 and take money from all the morons.

I realize that. He was implying that a bot's ability to keep perfect track of cards would translate into a large edge. I'm claiming it wouldn't.

Personally I think it would be easier to write a 5card draw bot. The games are fishy to boot!!
