How do you usually play a hand starting with 3 to a flush with 2 of them low?? for example if you start with 24Q all hearts, do you usually just call or raise on 3rd?? and then does that change if only one of them is low??? it's still a good hand, but with no low potential, and the fact that it's a fold (usually) if you don't improve on 4th, is it worth raising just to try to push people out???
I realize it depends on what your opponents are showing, but im just looking for your general thoughts.
thanks...

Copied from the stud 8 strategy sticky
3 suited cards: 3 suited cards are sometimes playable and sometimes not. I discussed three suited low earlier, 3 suited with an A is a nice hand to play if you suite and aces are live.
3 suited card without an A, I will play 2 low + high if the suite is live, and I will play 3 suited to a str8 if the suite and str8 are very live, I will not play 3 suited with 2 high and a low.
Rgarding high and low, if the suite is live and you are in relatively late position you can take a card off for one bet, you dont want to call 2-3 bets with this hand
I will usually not raise 2 low + 1 high without an A. flush hands play relatively well in multi way pots, and you have little room for improvement other then the flush.
If there is added value to your raise, for example it was folded to you in relatively late position, and you believe you can knock out other players and pick up the antes + bring in, or you can play vs bring in only, it may be worth it, especially if your door card is the high card and you can represent high pair which is higher then any other door card remaining

Thanks again TLR.
I am trying to get a friend of mine to join here. He is a good stud 8 player, and it would give another person to bounce things off of.

So far so good. I like that there's a decent amount of discussion on games other than NLHE, like Stud8 and Razz. And I know salsa is the Omaha moderator here, and he's got a lot of good Omaha stuff.
By the way, did you already post any of my articles on here? If not, I'm going to.

yeah, I've noticed there seem to be a few non-holdem regulars in this part of the forum. I think I'll fit in just fine in here.

Thanks TLR. I'm looking forward to being a regular contributer here.
Word of warning, I'm a member of probably a dozen or so poker forums, so I have trouble keeping track of all of them and have a tendency to disappear from some of them for a few days. I'm also an admin at ATE's site. I try to bounce between them, but I've forgotten some of the sites I'm a member of.
