Sometimes I do it with TP on a board that has a FD and LP raised after I bet and there were like 1 or no callers between us... it also has to be a tagg that I feel is capable of making a FC play at me...

2 ways I know of to defend against a FC Play OOP...
a) 3 bet flop (probably best)
b) Stop and go

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
However if the guy is a dumb ass and will raise for the FC and not take the FC a c/r is a good option... if you feel you hand is best of course...
I think a lot of times you could use it a line is slightly bettor EV that doesn't use it...
I can only think of extremely read depended situations or Meta game reasons to use a Stop and Go line...
At the lowest limits, I don’t think that the line is something you should liberally implement in your game, the situations that I am running though my head are all based against players that have a clue… with correct table selection you don’t run into that at all, maybe once in 25k hands, even then it might not even be the best line of action IMO…
anyways that's my 2cents
elipsesjeff is an unknown quantity at this point
I've used it a couple times when you think you are ahead but aren't sure and you're facing a complete maniac. I've donked every street with AA only to get raised every street and still take it down. Sometimes I'm afraid if I 3bet he'll fold but really, I just want to see his hand at showdown. I dont recommend it at low limits either unless your OOP against a guy who's completely insane.
Forgive the fish, but what's a stop-and-go in limit?
I have no interest in discussing strategy with a protege'. Your job is to remain quiet and listen. I have a very systematic approach that I will share with the right candidate and I promise that I will turn you into a force of nature and show you elements of the game of poker that you never knew existed.
Leading the turn out of position when you check/called the flop is the most seen use of it.
It's only a donk bet if it's by a donkey!
This is not a stop and go. What you've described is a donk bet.
A stop and go is when you are raised on the flop, you call, and then donk the turn. So you stop your aggression, then go again.
There are two main reasons to stop and go. The first is if you have a monster hand. The line is primarily to extract the most from your opponents.
1. Headsup. You are against an aggressive opponent who you think has a flopped a good hand, but is worse than yours.
If you 3bet the flop, he may just call down. But if you stop, and donk the turn, he will be tempted to raise allowing you to get 4 bets in on the big streets.
2. Multiway. This is the same sort of situation. Except this time, you don' t want to make the field call multiple bets at a time.
eg. You raise preflop and bet the flop in early position. You get two callers and someone raises in late position. Rather than 3bet and face the callers with two, you call. And bet the turn hoping the LP raiser will raise again.
The second reason is when you flop a good hand but not great. Someone raises in late position and you feel that you are being free carded often enough to warrant a protective bet.
Just fold.
Thats correct. The difference between a donkbet and a stop'n'go is that with the stop'n'go you were initially aggressive.
You raise preflop
You bet the flop, villain raises
You lead the turn anyway
Thats a stop'n'go.
You limp preflop, and button raises.
You lead out the flop anyway
That is a donkbet.
I stop and go by calling with any two in NL OOP against a loose preflop range, and then pushing any flop as a desperate move to build a stack instead of blinding out like a tard.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
