I dont have the HH anymore but heres a spot where I think I know what to do but I want to make sure.

6 max omaha hi 2PL

I raise 3x in fairly late position (I think CO) with TJQK (suited to the K, how do you write that? ) after a few limpers. The raise is partly a sweetner and partly to allow AAxx to reraise so I can get it in if I can beat an overpair on the flop.

Someone reraises pot. In this game this is almost always AAxx Ill call him BB but im not really sure. Someone else calls from early-mid position and I call in position.

Flop : 8 9 A rainbow.

BB bets out pot, MP raises pot and Im pretty sure if I call/raise BB will push.

Do I put MP on another set and get it in?
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

I think this is close enough that I spare myself the drama and fold.

It's not the worst spot to gambol in, but if MP is the type that would raise on a draw you are in bad shape. Since there's no flush draws on board, unless he has 99 or 88, he is probably raising a slightly worse wrap than yours.

That sounds like a good thing, but really he is eating your outs and the ones that are left will often end up in a split pot. Stack sizes are important here, the more you have left behind the less likely it is that you should gamble.

I can remember a similar hand from a while ago (too lazy to dig through too many hands to find it) where I had TJQK and it was a reraised, multiway pot. The pot was something like $200 and the reraisor went all in for about $100 more on an ATx rainbow board. All folded to me and I had to gamble since I am at worst about 33% to win if he has AAxx.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

OK. I folded and they had AAxx and 88xx (with no straight cards). I actually thought I made a mistake but Im still not sure what kind of hands the generally passive players are raising in this game yet. Ive played a reasonable amount of microstakes PLO8 before but hardly any Hi only.

if they had aaxx and 88xx I believe folding is a mistake, you run it through the equity calculator?

I don't think you 3bet push the flop though for fear of scaring 88/99 out of the pot

Wow, you were ahead (48% equity). The 2nd set takes away 2 boat outs from AAXX.
You really have to be sure 88XX doesn't fold though. Also, you might save a little bit if the board pairs on the turn, because you can be sure you are drawing dead.

I thought this was a fold before I simulated it (not perfectly, I just threw in some non-straight AAXX vs 88XX hands).

I dont think 88 folds ever at the $2 tables. Im not sure how often he has another wrap though.
