Sorry I'm at work and don't have the HH.

5/10 6mx @ Party. (5 handed)

Muppet limps UTG, folds to TAG button who raises, folds to me and I call A5 in the BB, Muppet calls.

Flop: T32
I bet, Muppet folds, Bu raises, I call.

Turn: T
I bet.....

I don't mind it.

Standard would be to bet/3bet the flop and go from there. I think it might be on the better side of the genius/stupidity scale though.

Are you going to follow through on 5th if you're called on 4th and don't improve?

I think this is good for metagame if nothing else.

Pretty stupid, highly transparent and I see it a lot at the party 5/10 game. Doesn't do you much good either, he'll never fold to it. It sets off his bullshit detector.

Best case is he goes into calldown mode. What do you do on the river when you brick? Check/fold? Now you've fucked yourself even when you hit you're not getting paid well. You pay more when youre behind, and win less when you hit. That would be the complete opposite of the goal in poker.

I'm not going to argue. I think you're right in most cases. But does your opinion change if the TAG knows you are a good TAG?

if he knows you're a good tag, wouldn't he expect a check/raise as opposed to leading out if you really did fill up?

I don't mind it so much, You'll get higher Ax hands to fold here and you've got at least 13 outs to improve if you are behind a pair, you've got 6 more to tie and 3 to win if he has you out kicked. So, running close to 22 outs here and any sort of folding equity is good. Heck, if you're going to check/call why not bet?

BTW, I'm betting a blank river, but if it pairs the board i'll check/call.

Yes he would expect it. That's why I did the opposite.
