Hi, haven't posted a hand in a while.
Figured I'd get back in the habit.

Party Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $2/$4
4 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (4 players) Demi is BB with 9 J
UTG calls, Button folds, SB raises, Demi calls, UTG calls.

Flop: 9 6 J (6SB, 3 players)
SB checks, Demi bets, UTG raises, SB calls, Demi 3-bets, UTG calls, SB caps, Demi calls, UTG calls.

Turn: T (9BB, 3 players)
SB checks, Demi bets, UTG calls, SB raises, Demi calls, UTG calls.

River: T (15BB, 3 players)
SB bets, Demi folds, UTG calls.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

w/o UTG you may have to call just in case of a bluff. With 3 player here, fold is fine I think.

What do you know of SB? TAG or fish it is definitely a set, maniac or lag add a badly played overpair. Either way, I don't think you can fold the turn after the checkraise, although another 9 on the river has a possibility of losing to Jacks over 9's. River fold is good.

River fold is good.
In the context of the hand as it was played, I can't see this. There are 16 big bets in, and far, far more than one time in 17+ I've seen utg w top pair good kicker and the small blind w an overpair. This scenario is completely consistent with the flop betting, and only requires a somewhat aggressive player in the small blind to check raise you, then bet out on the river, as indeed happened.

Folding at 16+ to 1 when an opponent plays somewhat (but not maniacally) aggressively has to be a huge mistake.

I think your getting 13-1 on the turn to call the SB raise. Looks like you have at most 4 outs, even less if JJ/TT/99. It's about 11:1 to call. Thing is, you know you're beat on the turn. You're getting odds to call, just like any draw, but you miss the river. I know the pot is huge but Id say you are more than 95% sure you are beat unless villain has shown you many bluffs. Honestly, what can you beat on the river?

If they had top pair good kicker or an overpair then the board pairing on the river counterfits your hand.
I think I can fold with 99% certainty that I am beat here.
