This hand sucks without reads.
The biggest problem I have is that in this game the players are untrusting enough to call down here with a pretty wide range.

This hand sucks with reads, just not quite as much as it does on the surface.
CO is tight preflop, but capable of open-raising a wide range from this position.
I have never seen button cold-call, though I have seen him raise a wide range to isolate loose players preflop.
I hate calling here preflop. I don't have odds to draw for set value, and any flop without a 6 will be hard to play out of position.
So preflop, I think I need to fold or raise.
Button's call pushes this toward a fold, IMO.
However, I feel that I have fold equity against 2 tight players with the 3 bet.
The flop is horrible for me, but I only need both players to fold 10% of the time for my c-bet to be profitable.
I plan to check fold the turn unimproved, but the Ace looked like a good card for a bluff.
I haven't been out of line yet, and have folded the last 2 orbits.
Giving me credit for a legitimate 3-betting range, and taking effective odds into account (He is looking at calling 2 big bets into a 6BB pot)there are very few hands that he can call with here.
I am getting 6 to 1 now on a bet. I plan to fold to a raise, and check fold the river unimproved.
I don't think any street was horrible, but reviewing it, each street is extremely marginal, and I don't much like any of my options.
FWIW, My standard line is to fold here because of button. I call here with around 88 and 3 bet around TT...
I 3 bet most steals with 66 if I can get it HU, but would often fold 44.

why make this play? from jeff's 30-60 HHs I see people raising K 7 UTG.... so why not just play less clever and more solid?
It's going to be interesting to hear jeff's progress when I get out of boot, maybe he'll have a 20k-30k hand stat for us in 2 months

I've got 10k hands in so far, I will tell you the numbers look good but I wont post it as it is a small sample.
In regards to this hand, i'm folding this preflop, if I'm running bad then I'm calling to continue breaking even. You've got 4-1 to call OOP and 3-1 raising in an even worse position. But, the way you played it, you have no reason to give up yet. I keep betting and fold to any aggression on any street. If he has the ace he may continue to call down but he could fold a better hand. If it wasn't HU, I would consider check/folding.
