Hand 1 I think you really need to raise or fold the flop.

Hand 2, why no river bet?

Hand 1 - Once BB bet the flop I was almost positive he had AQ, KK or AA. Slight possibility of AK meant I was gonna show down unless a K or A hit. Do you really advocate a raise on the flop when you think you are beat?

Hand 2 - Cuz I'm a big weenie. I sensed slow play and didnt want to bite on the river. In the end I don't think it really mattered. He wasn't gonna call a bet anyways. Then again, the guy did coldcall a raise preflop with 9K os and called both the flop and turn as well, so... you never know.

No, I'd advocate a fold. But if you're going to call, you might as well raise.

Hand 1: Don't cap pre-flop, once he 3-bets he means buisness.
Hand 2: Bet the river.

So, on hand one I truely do not understand why a preflop raise (then capping it off none the less) with 8 7 s on the button is proper. All that I have read tells me that low sooted connectors want to limp in cheap (odds like 10:1 or so that a strt or flush will hit).

Because he's stealing the blinds and expects to often win either without showdown or with a pretty weak hand. I agree that the cap sucks.

The PF cap is strange but beyond that the whole hand played out strange. Once you know it's 3-way on a 3-bet I think you have to call it instead of raise...You hit your pair and called it down to improve on the river no harm but -EV play PF
Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

I played both hand one and hand two like absolute crap. Absolutely no reason to cap pre-flop on hand one - just being a dumbass. Absolutely no reason not to bet the river on hand two - just being a puss.

Hence the title - Sometimes you need hands like these to make your day. I showed both hands - people thought I was a total dumbass, and I ended up winning over 20BB in less than an hour.
