I very rarely slow play any hand, but I made an exception for this board when I flopped the nuts.

Table is a mix of T-AG's and T-P's. Routinely getting 3 way action to the flop. Not able to limp much on this game..

$1/$2 Hold'em

Seat 9 is the button
Total number of players : 10
Seat 2: T-AG ( $81.5 )
Seat 5: nonfactor ( $12.5 )
Seat 6: nonfactor ( $24 )
Seat 8: nonfactor ( $22.63 )
Seat 9: nonfactor ( $37 )
Seat 1: Lonnie ( $48.25 )
Seat 4: nonfactor ( $60.12 )
Seat 10: nonfactor ( $71.25 )
Seat 7: T-P ( $24.5 )
Seat 3: UVMRR ( $59 )
nonfactor posts small blind [$0.5].
Lonnie posts big blind [$1].
** Dealing down cards **
Dealt to lhoney2 [ 4h Ah ] - they actually let me limp my BB!
T-AG calls [$1].
nonfactor folds.

Lonnie checks.
** Dealing Flop ** [ 2h, 9h, 8h ] - Great flop, perfect slowplay opportunity
Lonnie checks.
T-AG bets [$1].
nonfactor folds.
T-P raises [$2].
nonfactor folds.
Lonnie calls [$2]. - calling two bets cold here. Like to see the raise..
TAG calls [$1].
** Dealing Turn ** [ 9s ]
Lonnie checks. - T-P's raise on the flop means I get to check-raise here. Board paired, but I'm continuing with my play...full house very unlikely at this point.
T-AG checks.
T-P bets [$2].
Lonnie raises [$4].
T-AG calls [$4].
T-P calls [$2].

Not getting reraised here was very good news for my hand. I'm fairly confident a 9 is not out there.

** Dealing River ** [ 2s ] - Not a good card for me. Don't think anyone would have a 2 at this point, but the 9 is disastrous. Don't want to see a river raise here.
Lonnie bets [$2].
T-AG folds.
T-P calls [$2]. - Obvious crying call!

Hmmm... probably closer than you would think between raising the flop and the turn.

You really don't want to push T-AG out of the pot. My guess is he's more likely to call a flop 3-bet and might call down from there.

In retrospect you might be right, but I wasn't sure. It looked like he was firing out a bet with overs. Putting him on a hand - Something with a K more than likely.

Definitely didn't want to lose the T-AG, but more importantly, didn't want to take 'control' of the hand away from T-P. T-P is running the show on the flop action, and I want them to feel good about themselves going into the turn. I think this is a better setup for the C-R.

Keeping the 3rd guy around is more important. You'll almost always win here, need to build a pot.

Cold calling the flop and c/ring the turn is a really strong signal for T-AG to go fuck off.
