Generally, this is how I play most of the situations that I encounter in a typical Party .5/1. I realize this is a mad house, anything goes, no-fold’em level, but I want to make sure my aggression is right once I see the flop to maximize my expected value over the long term (regardless of copious suck-outs).

Missed Flop, 2 Overcards:
Let it go or call one bet to see the turn? Is this strictly a pot odds scenario? I tend to call one bet to see the turn, but let it go if I don't hit high pair, unless I need the river to give me a nice backdoor draw.

Flop High Pair Good Kicker:
Bet when it’s checked around to me…
Reraise when it’s raised to me.
If Reraised back, I’ll most likely call down, especially if I’ve got a draw. Fold if it’s ever two bets to me. I’ll bet this to the SD unless the board gets scary or there’s a lot of action, but most of the time, I’m betting and people are just calling me. If I get a raise on the river (big suck out coming) I’ll always call anyway… yes/no? Even with a very likely straight/flush drawer who hit his hand?

Flop a Flush/Straight Draw:
I’ll always try for a check raise, or raise a bet if there aren’t a lot of people in the pot (3 or less) to get a free card on the turn. If I get action back I’m calling to the river and folding if I miss. If lots of people are calling a bet on the flop I’ll just call along with them to keep their donations coming. I guess the tricky part of draws is how to play them correctly (when and what to bet) when you’re against one or two players. Check call or raise/reraise?

Flop Middle Pair with an Overcard on the board (no draws):
AQ, AJ, A10, KQ, KJ, QJ, etc. I’m fairly certain this situation is where I lose most of my money. Like having a premium pocket pair and seeing an overcard hit, I’m constantly torn with playing this out or just check/folding. It tends to vary between how many people are in the pot- usually more than 2, I’ll give someone credit with holding the high pair and check and fold, while if it’s heads up I’ll bet into them on the flop and turn hoping to push them out. Bet the River with middle pair heads up?

Flop Middle Pair with Premium Pocket Pair (KK, QQ and JJ to some extent
I try to tell myself to let these go if the flop hits with an overcard on my premium pocket pairs and I’m against more than two opponents (heads up I’ll try to get very aggressive, representing a better hand- usually I can get them to fold on the turn). Should I be betting these all the way to the river if someone is just calling me? Or should I bet the flop and check/fold the turn and river? Naturally I’m tossing these if someone reraises. These hands become so tough at this level because people are willing to call bets all the way with top pair crap kicker, or even middle pair crap kicker, even against a lot of early aggression. Maybe this is more about the read than anything….

Flop Top Pair, 2 pair, Set/Trips and the board get scary with lots of auction:
Basically, when are you committed to the pot and must call down regardless of the action? If I’m playing one of these situations and the top card pairs, there’s 4 to a flush or 4 to a straight with lots of action, I like to fold. Granted if I’m heads up with someone and the board gets that scary, I’ll just call them down. Anything worth calling the turn for is worth calling the River (unless of course you missed a draw and have nothing)?

Any situations I missed that you think novices tend to have trouble with? Any glazing holes? And yes, I have Pokertracker, although I'm waiting to hit at least 5,000-10,000 hands before I ask advice on that. Thanks all
