Never quite sure how to play the nut flush HU on the turn.

On a non paired board, when I'm first to act (holding the nut flush) should I,

bet
check/call
check/raise

I was thinking that If I had checked, he might think I saw the Ace as a scare card, and he might rep the flush. Or, it might give an opportunity for the board to 4 flush. In this case he didn't like the A or the heart.

Any advice in general for maximizing the pot here?.

Party Poker 10/20 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

1 fold, Hero raises, 3 folds, BB :#A500AF(buddy876)/ calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) K, 5, 9 (2 players)
buddy876 checks, Hero bets, buddy876 calls.

Turn: (3.25 BB) A (2 players)
buddy876 checks, Hero bets, buddy876 folds.

Final Pot: 4.25 BB

Results in white below: [color:#FFFFFF]
No showdown. Hero wins 4.25 BB. [/color]

You did all you could. If you check the turn he gets a free river. HU you might could have checked the turn and hope he bluffed the river but I would have bet.

Q9s is about the lowest I'll raise with 6H early position, but it does play well. It's table dependent, though.

(I showed, hoping the board would think me capable of raising with anything suited in early position).

Qxs is not that good of a hand. Kxs is still really loose. Its also dependant on your value of X. Shorthanded you still dont have to loosen up your game THAT much.

Have you read Hypermegachi's guide to 6 max?

Thx Jeff

Read Hyper's guide several times.

I don't play Q8s or Q8s or anything worse. As noted, Q9s is as low as I go with a 2 gapper (of course I'll play J10s, 109s, but it depends on position, raises, and table). There's just lots of good options for Q9s (IMO)

Thx again.
