Lets say I catch AA on the deal. Everyone calls BB, and I raise. Everyone folds except one person who re-raises, and I call. The flop brings Qh 5d 8sp.
No possiblity of a straight or flush, so I raise, and he re-raises.

Now my question is, in this situation, should I put him on a set since he re-raised pre-flop? I don't think he has 2 pair, cause there's only one face card in the flop, and he wouldn't have re-raised preflop unless he had at least a pair or 2 face cards.

If I decide on a set, should I call or raise to the turn hoping to catch an A?
Or should I only call, if the call is 8% of the pot or less?

I'm only asking cause I took pocket ace's to the river in a game last night, against a flopped set of kings. Stupid This is a little bit of a different. But anyway any suggestions for my logic here.
anyway

This scenario is silly, as almost no one folds to one more bet after limping. 2 more bets is a stretch even for some players. Also, with so much money in the pot by the time you think that maybe you're not good, you must call this down. He shows you KK/AQ waaayyyy often enough.

I would have at least 3-bet the flop and/or popped the turn before calling down. Unless you just quit your day job at the psychic friends network, you just can't fold your overpair because you think the other guy has a set. ~45% of the time I go to showdown I lose, and I'm OK with that...

has this person pushed you all-in? if not, why didn't you push him all-in?

this is likely true, but standard disclaimer about wild/crazy online players. even more so if this is limit!

if you've got a way to put someone on a set, i'll subscribe to your newsletter! based on preflop action, about the only real set possibility would Q's, maybe 8's. more likely, you're up against either AQ or KQ. if he was dealt QQ i'd say his reraise would have been all-in.

regarding your AA versus KKK, sometimes, you just have to pay off the set.
i hate what i have become to escape what i hated being...

With AA HtoH, I would go all-out with the betting. I might slow it down on the turn, if the flop got capped and if the opp is known to be conservative. You should of capped the preflop and flop if given the chance.

You shouldnt be too concerned to what opp has, your preflop and flop bets should be identical and if your feeling a bit beat on the turn, you can call to the river. In anycase, youll be paying off any sets anytime this happens. However, the AA HtoH is a tremendous favorite and needs to be bet very aggressively.

In the other scenario AA vs KK, I would bet the same way. However, you a little more worried about the set b/c opps likely 2-hands are AK and KK. In the previous hand opp could be betting AK, KK, and QQ. Assuming you and your opp arent perceived to be loose/aggressive.

I'm with Fishy in NL, and Fnord in Limit.

In NL, with a re-raiser, go all in and play this hand pre-flop. That's when you have the best of it and any opponent will have to seriously out-draw to beat you.

In limit you will have plenty of opportunities to raise / cap pre-flop and on the flop, if it does get capped, you can slow down on the turn / river.
I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.
