If the BB is truly terrible, he is probably capable of playing trip Q's this way. He may or may not have the boat. What makes the hand interesting is that the button is along for the ride no matter what it seems. The button doesn't have a full house. I think getting the overcall from the button allows you to cap the turn and river, provided the BB is as bad as you say he is. Terrible players overplay trips in situations like this and payoff full houses. This time you are getting 2-1 on your money everytime you hit raise. I think it's worth the risk.

Yeah, but KQ and QJ (both very reasonable holdings) both caught up. Then again, we're short handed and these are not reasonable players. If the Button has something stupid a raise might kill my over-call.

Looking back, I'm thinking pop the river and call a 3-bet...

Youre right that they are both possible holdings...but in the words of you and 'rilla...I'm gonna pay em. Laying down not being an option I think you may have to only call the river. I guess it depends on what they will be willing to call a raise PF. if they are as bad as you say I'm capping the river and getting paid more often than not.
Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

I play this hand the exact same way that you did. Button obviously doesn't have you beat, probably has a pocket pair or Q2-Q5 and isn't good enough to get rid of it. BB obviously has a Q and I'd say the odds of it being QK or QJ are good enough to not raise the river, but you definately have to cap the turn and call the river.
