Party 5/10.

You hold Q3 in the BB.

Folds to SB who limps.

Question 1: Who raises??

Assuming you just check....

Flop: KJ4

SB bets, Question 2: Hero????

What if I said I'm sure he would raise a King preflop?

So why do you think Q3o is so good? It is below average even HU against a random hand. How can you be sure he will raise any K? That isn't very relevant even if true. The only relevant read here is that he will always fold if he whiffs the flop. In that case, a bet is worthwile, otherwise, check or fold.

I said no more posting xan!

Villain has bet into us on the flop.

No, I dont raise this preflop. I thank him heartily for the free flop. No, I dont call this flop bet. Ok, fine, read is he'll raise with a K. What about a jack? Easy fold.

Do you think we're giving up too much when we fold a flop like this??

1,070,190 games 0.250 secs 4,280,760 games/sec

Board: Kd Jd 4c
Dead:

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 41.3394 % 39.06% 02.28% { Qd3s }
Hand 2: 58.6606 % 56.38% 02.28% { random }

He has more than a random hand, whats his Folded small blind number or Attempt to steal numbers? why would you want to continue with 40% equity getting 3-1 on a call?

Yeah, I missed the SB bets bit. Of course it's still a fold. Your hand sux. Opponent betting just increases the chances you are behind. Only very specific and accurate reads here could give you a reason to try to steal this pot, such as opponent is known to play any 2 from SB and always bet the flop and fold to a raise without a hand. Otherwise, give it up.

What i've done is just flat call the flop and see if they put another one in on the turn. Sometimes on a pure bluff, they'll bet the flop but give it up on the turn and you can steal the pot. I used to do this a lot at the party 3/6 6 max games back in the day when they would give me free blinds, but havent done so recently.

OTOH, Party 3/6 players tend to bet all the way and call a river raise with king high while the 5/10 players are more likely to give up on the river if their bets on the flop and turn missed.
