One advantage I am seeing from raising more hands is being able to extract more value from TPTK without having people fold on me too quickly, since I am making an effort to continuation bet a little less and take the free cards on the flop depending upon the board. Thoughts?

Hand #1

Villian BB is 61/20. Villian MP is 55/4

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A, K.
1 fold, MP raises, Hero 3-bets, 1 fold, BB calls, MP calls.

Flop: (9.50 SB) A, 5, A (3 players)
BB checks, MP checks, Hero checks.

Turn: (4.75 BB) 2 (3 players)
BB bets, MP raises, Hero 3-bets, BB folds, MP calls.

River: (11.75 BB) 7 (2 players)
MP checks, Hero bets, MP calls.

Final Pot: 13.75 BB

Hand #2

Villian is 65/9; typical low limit LPP. The "standard" TAG in me would bet the flop.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (4 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 2, A.
1 fold, Hero raises, 1 fold, BB calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) 8, A, 4 (2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

Turn: (2.25 BB) T (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

River: (4.25 BB) A (2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls.

Final Pot: 6.25 BB

Hand 2, the flop check seems very wrong to me.

Hand 1, I think a turn call makes at least as much, but often more. A turn call probably wins about 2 more BB on average than the raise. With the texture of the board, you can't expect many worse hands to reraise you, and should rather want BB to stick around and MP to think he has the best hand.
