PokerStars Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (10 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com
Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with Q , Q
UTG calls, Hero raises, UTG+2 3-bets, MP1 calls, 5 folds, BB calls, UTG calls, Hero calls
No read on UTG+2, this is his 2nd hand at the table...I probably should have capped on the flop for value, but I got weak in the knees (big pot, i'm getting married to it, yeah SSH warns against this attitude, i try to watch it).
Flop: (15.4 SB) 7 , 8 , 3 (5 players)
BB bets, UTG calls, Hero raises, UTG+2 3-bets, 1 fold, BB calls, UTG calls, Hero calls
A read on UTG+2 would be so nice here...Donk bettor is a maniac who's been bluffing at dangerious flops and basically suffering from FPS. UTG is fairly new so no real read on him. Again, I should have capped this . Biggest leak in my game right now IMO is putting people on the same hands I'd be on if I were playing that way (especially when I don't have a read suggesting otherwise.
Turn: (13.7 BB) K (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks, UTG+2 bets, BB calls, UTG calls, Hero calls
I hated this card, but here's where my weakness could be a strength. While I get weak PF and flop putting people on strong hands, I don't follow with those reads when the pot is big. At this point, I'm figuring I'm pretty beat but I can't seem to let it go.
River: (17.7 BB) A (4 players)
BB checks, UTG checks, Hero checks, UTG+2 bets, 2 folds, Hero calls
Talk about another bad card. IF BB or UTG had bet out, i'd probably have folded. If either of them had called I would have folded (maybe)...when neither of them called, the pot was just too big...I only have to be good here abour 6% of the time for this to be profitable.
Total pot: $9.85 (19.7 BB) | Rake: $0.40
Results:
Hero had Q , Q (one pair, Queens).
UTG+2 had 2 , 4 (high card, Ace).
Outcome: Hero won $9.45

maybe he thought there was another card coming and it was a semi-bluff.

yes, i would cap preflop. i also cap the flop w/o a thought. i am not letting go of this hand on the turn to one random bet, but i am shutting down my now 2nd pair, too. pot is too big to drop out of. call down unless the diamond hits and you are facing two bets, imo. however, i will fold that sick river card if there is a bet and call in front of me. but, since they dropped and we close action, i call and pay off. (did this before looking at results, as i always try to do)
oops! and, i catch a dumbass bluff. and, pee my pants from the laughter.

LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.
Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!
