hero is BB with

PreFlop:

UTG calls, 4 folds, Button Calls, 1 fold, hero Checks

hero checks, UTG bets, Button Calls, hero Calls

Turn:

hero checks, UTG bets, Button Calls, hero RAISES, UTG 3-bets, Button calls, hero CAPS, UTG calls, Button Calls

River:

hero....?

since i thought my hand was good enough to cap on the turn, its obviously an easy river bet, right? or with 2 others capping the pot with me should i be weary of the A high flush, or even a str8 flush?[/b]

When you check a 3-flush flop then check-raise the turn it's painfully obvious to anyone paying attention that there is good chance you have a flush. You got lucky this hand and got action anyway, but usually the "check a scary flop and check raise the turn" line is a big action killer. If you know the person immediately after you is likely to be the aggressor, slowplaying this becomes more reasonable, but even then I often prefer to bet out (and in this particular case, there was no reason to suspect UTG would be the aggressor).

Just bet this flop and nobody will put you on a flush and you're much more likely to get action on the turn AND river. And if some already has a made weaker flush, or makes something like three of a kind or a striaght on the turn you are much more likely to get a lot of action if you just bet the flop.

Not to mention that letting this get checked to the turn sucks a lot, partly because of the bets you miss on the flop, but partly because then the pot is smaller and fewer people will be compelled to give you money.

Also, you should make the naked A or 9 pay to draw out on you.

Anyway, as for you question. I bet the river. I think one guy has a lower flush than you and the other has either a striaght, or a naked A or 9. If you get raised on the river, then you should maybe just call. But there's just too many times you're still ahead to check the river. I pay off a higher flush or straight flush here.

----- PREFLOP ----- Dealt to Hero [8 5]

UTG calls, MP raises, CO calls, Button calls, SB folds, Hero calls, UTG calls

----- FLOP ----- [4 7 6]

Hero bets, UTG calls, MP calls, CO folds, Button calls

----- TURN ----- [4 7 6][A]

Hero bets, UTG folds, MP raises, Button calls, Hero raises, MP raises, Button calls, Hero calls

----- RIVER ----- [4 7 6 A][2]

Hero bets, MP calls, Button calls

----- SHOW DOWN -----

Hero shows [8 5] (A Straight, Eight high)
MP mucks [Q A]
Buttons shows [T T]

Hero wins a big pot.

Granted this isn't exactly analagous because a flopped straight is usually (slightly) more disguised than a flopped flush, but I just played this hand today, and I didn't feel like digging around PT looking for a good flopped flush example. But it often plays out similar to this.

I would bet the flop, don't want to possibly give an ace of clubs the free chance to outdraw your flush. There's plenty of reason for the other players to stick around, so no need to slowplay.

Bet the turn, no need to slowplay. Depending on your reads, I either call the 3bet or cap.

Bet the river, call down a raise.
