BB has been playing lots of hands, auto-betting the flop into strength and has lost his last 2 or 3 hands. Hasn't been really out of line pre-flop.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Fnord is UTG with J, A.
Fnord raises, 7 folds, BB 3-bets, Fnord calls.

Flop: (6.33 SB) 6, 6, 4 (2 players)
BB bets, Fnord calls.

Turn: (4.16 BB) 9 (2 players)
BB bets, Fnord calls.

River: (6.16 BB) 8 (2 players)
BB bets, Fnord calls.

Final Pot: 8.16 BB

even if he was a moron, don't you think the 3bet preflop makes it very likely he can beat your ace high?

If he has not been out of line pre-flop, as you say, how can you call him. A quick glance says you would have to put him on KQs in order for you to win, maybe A10s.

These are not even worth 3bets HU. Fact is, there is no 3 bet worthy pre-flop hand that you can beat.

U are having to go against your own read to win
Gone golfing ..see ya in the Fall of 2006

it's been a long time since i tilted, but from what i remember the very least i would have is a low pocket pair to go crazy like that.

Your usual game is better than his. Consider how often I need to be good to make these calls. I agree that I lose this hand quite often.

usually I raise in flop to get information. If he has AK,he also fear you have pocket pair. However, if he call the reraise or reraise to 3bets in flop . I will asuume i am beaten.

In fact, what is the result finally, he has AK?

hmmmmm.....
let's see....
AA-22 beats you
AK-AQ beats you

all those are likely candidates.

KQ-K2 are also possible, with likeliness dropping very fast around K8/7.

QT, JT, Q9, Q8, J8

you do beat quite a bit of hands...you mentioned that he autobets into strength previously and lost....did he have a draw or a pair?

Folded the river on a prior hand against me (AQo caught a Q on the turn), and another time he bet into a raggy flop after raising T9s on the button. Just reviewed the hands and saw that other 2 times he did have a weak top pair. Probably a perception issue here. He did drop $150 in 10 hands, losing showdown every time.

BTW, he had QTo and MHIG!
