When I first started playing poker, knowing zero strategy, I used this starting hand chart:

http://lowlimitholdem.com/starting_hand_selections.htm

Those are obviously pretty loose selections; they're intended specicially for loose-passive tables at low/micro limits. Using them I was able to drive a $45 investment up to $300 with (like I said) no other real knowledge.

Now I've gone back to limit, playing much higher starting requirements, watching for good opportunities to get extra bets in, or save bets by slowing down or folding when someone shows strength.

And I'm being just absolutely f****ing destroyed.

For example I have not dragged a pot in my last 3 sessions -- about 20 min. each because that's how long it takes to lose $6

The only real question in this topic is: what do you think of that starting hand chart above?

non suited connectors are still trash even in late position..

3 sessions 20 minutes a piece a total of 1 hour.
50 hands an hour..
so in 50 hands you haven't had alot of wins?

sounds like a common cold run of cards.

That's just this morning's performance -- the last few days have each been more or less similar.

Still, I agree and I'm not real worried. I'll stick it out with the good (FTR) cards ...

...heheh... "specicially"

No, I haven't got PT yet. Starting to feel a desperate need for it, though.

get PT, you won't regret it.

and i think the 30BB rule only applies to single tables. so if you play 3 tables it should be 90BB, or 4 tables 120BB, etc.

I have to say that is one of the worst starting hand charts I have ever seen. It almost seems like whoever designed that is specifically trying to get other people to play bad or it was designed by an online poker room trying to get people to create more action. Either way, playing Axs or Kxs from early position is just asking for trouble. Playing 75 offsuit even from late position almost can't be for real. You might as well be just seeing every flop and at least giving yourself the table image of a maniac if you are gonna use that chart.

So what? Real winning poker isn't about winning pots. It's about getting as much $$ of yours and your opponents in when you have the best of it. So you're not winning pots right now? Big deal...everyone goes through a downswing. Use the loose-passive low-limit tables to your advantage and punish the folks for playing crap cards.
