ChezJ is an unknown quantity at this point
sometimes i find myself going on tilt because my chips are way up. i take more chances on poor draws, play weaker starting hands, etc., and before i know it, i've pissed away my entire lead. having enough self-awareness to recognize this situation and take a break can prevent this bad habit from recurring.

in a B&M game, i will also color up my chips or sell them to other players to shrink the size of my stack and thus trick myself to play tight.

online, i do find that when i hit a streak of killer cards, it is followed by about an hour where i'm dealt crap and bleed away chips on blinds/rake. unless there are 2 or more big fish doling out money at the table, i'll usually head for the lobby following a big run.

if you're way ahead not because you are outplaying fish but because you caught KK three times in the last ten minutes (as happened to me on UB last friday), i really think it's irrational to believe you will keep on winning that way. maybe i am being superstitious, or maybe the law of averages applies. or maybe it's just UB's wacked out random number generator. i don't know or claim to know. what i do know is that in my experience, decisions on whether to quit or not quit after a statistical hot streak have made a significant difference in my own bankroll.
