this really just depends on your perception of his b/c tendencies when you check.

Has to be a good % of the time b/c you can bank that he's calling a bet.

By the river, my board shows two pair 8's and 2's, so he won't call a bet unless he at least has a bigger two pair. But whenever this is true, he will almost always bet when I check, and usually call a raise, which is better than betting since he will only call and virtually never raise, even with a flush. Check-raising also has the added benefit of inducing a bluff when he can't beat my board (my only way of making more money from him).
