How big of a leak is it to destroy the free card you gave yourself and bet the turn there as well?

I almost never have the best hand, and if I do, there is little value in betting.
Also, I have almost no fold equity against a better hand.
I have a pair and OESD, but the straight is already possible and I may split. If I pair my Q, my opponet may make a straight, or he may have 2 pair or AQ already. There is also a flush draw possible, and I have to worry about the possiblity of a check raise.

In general, while I have a great deal of equity vs villain's range, a turn bet is clearly incorrect.

I like it, I also like it to protect your jacks against a GS draw. If you are checkraised or 2 bet called on the flop by the other players, you have a better idea of where you stand.

Yeah, that's the main reason i posted it.

"buying outs" was a major goal of the raise, whereas I rarely raise for that reason.

A problem I see with raising is that you fold out 4 other people in this pot. Those calls are valuable to build the pot for you if you hit and you are going to have odds to call on the turn anyway.
