The situation is that you have a fairly good hand in the SB with 2 new posters in front of you (one new to the game, one dead + sb). Is this an auto raise? I don't think many posters fold their dead blinds. Wouldn't a raise here just increase variance with little fold equity?

Against two random hands, AJ is great. I definitely raise here.

Yup. You have very little folding equity, but you're likely to hold the best hand.

Absolutely raise for value here. You know for a fact they have a random hand that they didn't raise with. Get the money before they miss the flop.

I'd raise for value here. If they weren't posters, I'd still raise for value. AJo was my worst hand in ring, but now that I'm a SH convert, I've been crushing with that hand (out of 23 AJo's, I've won 0.72 BB/hand). So much ace-rag nonsense out there, and people play KJ and QJ quite strongly two. I find I'm dominating rather than dominated with this hand, and have won some pretty pots.
