What exactly do you think you are up against on the flop? Any of them have AK, QQ, JJ, or TT(all VERY likely hands) and it doesn't matter how big the pot is. This is practically the easiest flop fold ever.

The pot is too big for me to be sure enough that I'm not up against AA, KK, and a bunch of rags.

It's .25/.50, people are doing all kinds of crazy things. I'll admit I'm a little rusty, but the worst odds I'm getting at any point in the hand is something like 15:1. There's no way I'm that sure I'm drawing dead.

You *might* have a case for calling one bet on the flop only because the pot is so silly, although I don't hate a fold. Second time around it's a fold you're drawing so dead.

Quick evaluation of "outs"
9 for the straight: no good, any K beats you
8 for the set: meh, any 9 has a straight, but you pick up 10 more outs which not all are good as someone could have QJ,QT,JT easily.

Yeah calling one bet I could see. But when it's 2 more back to you on the flop the 2nd time around, gotta dump it.

Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

pre-flop, but who ever does...
Post-flop, fold! you are ahead of nothing (and hand with a q, j or ten is ahead, AK is far, far ahead) and your only live outs are the 8s (someone has a king so a nine doesn't help you), then again i don't even think they are that live - don't you put UTG on AK?

LoL, UTG could have QQ here as well. You might not be drawing dead!
