silly question, but I don't know how calculate odds that well.
Say the pot is giving you 4:1, and you have bottom pair, facing 1 bet, is it worth to call?

9 - 4.1:1
8 - 4.75:1
7 - 5.6:1
6 - 6.7:1
5 - 8.2:1
4 - 10.5:1
3 - 14.3:1
2 - 22:1
1 - 45:1
say you got 4 outs on the flop you would then say you have 46 cards left in the deck (really on the turn it would be 47 but between 47 and 46 results are so small it wont matter much) then you take 46/4 which gives you 11.5 so if you about 1 in 11.5 you'll hit... in my notation above it is writing as 10.5:1 this basically means the same thing as 1 in 11.5... Hope that helps...
so basically you then take the number for the odds for your hand and take the same ratio to the pot say the pot is $10 and it takes $1 to call, the pot is offering to 10 to 1 on your money (i think you can note it as 10:1) so if you had anything over 3 outs you have pot odds to call...

You also need to consider the chance you are drawing to a second best hand or will get out-drawn on the river. This is why drawing to a weak two pair or trips is often worse than the apparent 5 outs. I'd often rather draw to a gutshot.

of course, there is rarely a time i'll draw that slim, the pot will have to be very big. I just wanted to make sure I was at least somewhat accurate about the "long term" decisions.
