I would like to play limit hold ‘em online.
I’ve got about 2 months experience playing and have read a few books. Lost $100 in 5 weeks playing sitandgos and $1/$2 fixed limit. So I’m inexperienced. I was wondering what the pros and cons are of fixed vs. pot limit. Where should I start out?? I’m going to re-deposit another $100 what level should I be playing at?
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Dave

Pot limit plays a lot more like NL.

I can't remember where, but I've seen .10/.20. You could play that with $100. I've never heard of anyone starting out with pot limit. The only reason I wouldn't recommend starting there is the lack of available literature. There's tons of information on limit out there.

I would agree--there isn't enough info available on PL to make it worth starting with. Start with limit or NL (I would try both and see which you enjoy more and/or are naturally better at), but not PL.
And with $100 you shouldn't be playing 1/2 or even .5/1. With little experience and only $100, I would recommend nothing higher than .10/.20 limit or the lowest no-limit available.
Royal Vegas Poker, Pacific Poker, and Paradise Poker (to name just a few) all have microlimits. Royal Vegas Poker even has 6-max microlimits (you might want to try these out if you find yourself bored with 10-max, but be aware that the playing style is very different).

PL is more difficult than NL. In NL it's trival to protect you hand (push.) Keep the money no more than 50 big blinds deep and you have plenty of tools to defeat most players. With money at around 20 big blinds you can play straight up cards and very few players will have an edge over you.

well if you seen those limits then ya .. the lowest stakes at UB in the bankroll of 100$ i've seen was the .5c/.10c tables.
probably better off depositing an extra 200$ on that and starting at the .5/1 tables unless you really wanna grind it out at the ultra low levels

I started at rock bottom too. There's no where to go but up from hear (except maybe broke). The .02/.04 and .05/.10 tables take forever to build a roll on, but it is possible and your roll will have more value personally, if you start small and work up.
Any schmoe can deposit a couple hundred bucks, play above their roll, make some quick coin if they get lucky and hit a hand.
I think it says a lot more about you as a player if you have the patience to work your way through those micro's. If nothing else, it's a lesson in patience. You will also see a lot more bad beats, so you'll be better able to handle one when you are playing at a higher level. You know they happen because you take them all the time at these levels.
