I'm very new to PLO8 (<1k hands). Comments on all streets appreciated.
I'm really starting to like this game and I want to fully understand it.
Prima Poker skin
Pot Limit Omaha Hi/Lo Ring game
Blinds: $0.10/$0.20
9 players
Converter
Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is SB with 2 8 T A
UTG calls, 3 folds, MP3 raises to $0.45, CO folds, Button calls, Hero calls, BB folds, UTG calls.
Is the hand good enough to call a raise? It has no "safety" low cards and the high side of the hand isn't that great either. I mainly thought it's good enough for a call because it's double suited.
Flop: 7 6 8 ($2, 4 players)
Hero checks, UTG checks, MP3 checks, Button checks.
Bet here with nut low + TPNK? I was contemplating on betting half pot but I thought I want to keep as many people in the pot as possible for the nut low and my high was in no shape of protecting or value betting whatsoever.
Turn: 4 ($2, 4 players)
Hero bets $2, UTG raises to $8, MP3 folds, Button calls, Hero raises all-in $17.35, UTG calls all-in $12.05, Button calls.
Couple of hours ago I would've only called the raise but I just read the O8 section of Super System 2 and I guess the push follows the advice given there. I'm just not sure if my draws are good enough.
I think I have 2 (eights) outs for the nuts, 4 (nines) for straight and 9 for the low flush here. That makes 14 total outs to make a high. Am I calculating right?
Anyways... awwin or call?
River: K ($59.45, 1 player + 2 all-in - Main pot: $54.05, Sidepot 1: $5.4)
Results:
Final pot: $59.45

from you're play the fact you're new shows
PF: any hand with A2 and the suited ace is a good hand. Here with a T suited to go with it and some straight potential with the T8, and the 3rd low card in the 8, you have a strong starting hand.
Flop: you got a monster here. Bet 1.50
Turn: All in if you think they'll call. I think they'll call.

Yea, I can't wait to get all my money in here, also I don't think that an 8 is a "nut" out, bare trips is rarely good enogh in PLO but in hi/lo it might be enough to take down the high.

Preflop the call is fine, you have a hand with lots of potential
Bet the flop, you have a good hand (although no protection)
you may get called by worse low hands
On turn your bet is fine, with a reraise and a call I think I just call it, most likely you have 1/4 of the hand, and if non club A or 2 hit you are in bad shape, and you do not have a draw to the nut high
