Which is more profitable, and why?

I have a feeling that there are tons of situations in PLO8 that are vastly profitable, where people put their stacks in for 1/4, but there are so many damn chops the rake is killer.

I consider myself at least proficient at most forms of poker, but split pot games give me a headache. I'd suspect PLO8 is probably more profitable at a fishy table. I think there's much more benefit for people to play very tight in PLO8, so at a table of nits, I'd much rather be playing PLO.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

i love plo8 tourneys but there is so little action on the cash side, most of the 1/2 are NLO8 which is eh, and you can't really move up from there anyway so I always feel like time is better spent elsewhere.
