I'm not completely new to the game, but my experience in it pales in comparison to Hold 'em.
Right now my strategy is very tight, camp out for the nuts or big nut draws, the only thing i do that might be considered tricky is betting huge draws on the flop. My pre-flop hand selection is big connectors an big pairs with other possibilities, I'll even fold AA if the other 2 cards are worthless. I don't even bother raising pre-flop, I don't think I play well post flop yet, the last thing I want to do is give my hand away and get outplayed.
Any pointers??

If you're playing the micro limits, you're doing pretty much what you need to do to make money. But there are times you should be raising preflop (other than just with AAKK/AAJT double suited).
Pumping up pots with good drawing hands like 6789-TJQK enables you to make more when you hit a flop hard. With a larger pot, you'll be able to get all your money in before any draws get there, and people will often call with feeble hands thinking you have AAxx.

Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

The only thing I would add is to limp hands with JJxx, QQxx, KKxx, AAxx in mid to late position as long as other players are not raising a lot. Most low limit players will go broke with middle and bottom sets. Raising at the lower limits is not something to get carried away with. It will generally add more to your varience than it will to your winrate.

It was just recently reprinted under the name Omaha Poker, with some added chapters on PLO. Mine should be in the mail any day now (ordered from Ciaffone's website: http://www.pokercoach.us/pokerbooks.html)

Yep, I paid $20 (well actually $21, since the Neteller peer to peer cost $1) in total. $4 for shipping to Canada and 16 for the book. I just got it today

KY, if you're still around, the above is great advice. In regards to folding dry AA in your original post, try to avoid doing it, but you are right in not getting raise happy with it. Besides ihategnomes advice about people stacking off with middle and bottom set, limping or calling small raises with dry AA will almost guarantee you action in lower limits, as nobody will give you credit for it. (Even semi-thinking players, 'he can't have AAA, he didnt raise or reraise preflop with it!')
In regards to the variance issue and people getting carried away with raising, at almost every table you will find somebody raising and c-betting every other hand. It might be intimidating at first, but have no fear, they, not the weak tighties, will be your #1 victims.

1) Avoid danglers unless on the CO or button.3-legged dogs are "the kiss of death in O8".So if you are in EP and get dealt KQJ2o(the 2 is the dangler) muck.
2) Don't overplay the nut low-this is a concept I still struggle with sometimes.
3) When heads up avoid chasing one end of the pot only esp just the low.A best you will get back your money/win slightly more (you can thank the rake for that) at worse you get quartered or scooped.
4) Don't overplay flopped Sets or straights unless you have a nut/second nut draw too. If you are going high only check call the flop and then re-evaluate the turn. If you do decide to play/raise do it when the turn bricks and pray.
5) It goes without saying don't go crazy with naked AAxx/KKxx hands, middle and bottom set, underfulls, drawing to flushes/straights on paired boards unless you have the Top Set draw,......etc......
