If youre talking about high/low thats a horrible hand IMO. 2 of your cards are low, but theyre not low enough to win a low half of the pot. That means theyll either have you drawing to a low end of a straight, or if you are drawing to the high end youll only be playing for half the pot. Add to that the fact that the Q is pretty far away from the other cards and I think it just sucks. Also your flush draws are going to be very low.

PLO8 isnt something im amazing at but id probably call a reasonable raise from a fairly tall stack with anything that can hit a flop HARD and play for a whole pot. e.g. something like TJQK will either miss (when the flop comes low) or hit pretty hard and play for the whole pot. Hands with lots of wheel cards are obviously good e.g. A245. because they can make a strong low and a straight if the flop is kind. Hands with high pairs are useful to make top set if the flop looks high only. Obviously these are stronger with an A2 or A3.

Last of all, and most importantly I have to stress that this is a game I am not very good at yet. Im answering this because noone else has yet.
I think the main thing to think about in PL and NL games when calling raises is to make sure you have a hand that will either hit the flop hard, or not at all. In a game like PLO8 where very few people raise preflop at all this becomes even more true.
gabe: Ive dropped almost 100k in the past 35 days.

You must have an ace to call a raise. Some say you need an ace to call the blind, but there are exceptions to that.
