I'm actually an O8 player but there weren't enough tables and I need to clear a bonus before I go to a salsa congress (YAY!)

So I'm a bit of a fish... but the players are so bad generally I thought it would still be +EV. I'm trying to learn PLOHigh anyway, though I should probably do it at lower stakes...

Only read I have is on CO. He plays as if it's holdem and bluffs too much. I check bombed him on the turn once and he said "wp" and folded.

Hero has :Td: :Tc: :Qs: :Kd: on the button in a $2/$4 game. UTG+1 has $500, CO has $300, and I cover

10 player game

UTG+1 raises to $12, CO calls, Hero Calls, BB Calls ($50 Pot)

Flop is :Ts: :Js:

BB checks, UTG Bets $50, CO raises to $100, Hero ???

Fuck it. If you're behind you gotta redraw with at least 6 clean outs.
TheXianti: (Triptanes) why are you not a thinking person?

Felt it. Not sure what a minimum raise by CO means, but more often than not it's some kind of combo draw or 2 pair. Even if someone has JJ, we have at least 7 clean outs (any non-spade 9 or A and the last 10). Against AA+nut flush draw we're in great shape and someone will call our (near) all in raise.

CO's raise actually helps us here, since we can essentially get all in because we can make it $400 to go and avoid giving any implied odds.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

I potted it.

UTG had a very strong KKJJ offsuit and insta-called.

CO thought for a while and went all in with 789J (?????)

I got lucky and hit a beautiful ace FTW. At the time I was thinking I'm sitting on the second nuts, but I couldn't put UTG on an exact JJ from his raise and pot with at least 50% confidence... also with all the dead money it probably wasn't a huge mistake if I was wrong. But when he showed JJ I had second thoughts (it's my second day of PLO high only). In PLO8 it's a no brainer - UTG's most likely hand has to be AAxx with 2 spades or A3yy with 2 spades (y being a 2 or broadway).

But the consensus is pot and felt, so I'm happy

Completely awful overcall. Bottom end 8+ out straight draw on a 2-flush board is like 2 nut outs...

Indeed, that's why it's good to raise more than just AAxx Once the pot is that big, you can't fold middle set on a board full of possible draws where AAxx+flush draw or big wrap/straight draw+flush draw is also going to felt against you.

Felting with 2nd nuts here is good, especially due to your redraw to the nuts.
