middle set isn't auto-stack in omaha, and sets are worth a lot less in omaha than in holdem. Seems you're playing with a bit of a holdem mentality.

hand 1 - any reads on villains? There are a lot of bad omaha players who are 3-betting AAxx always, and only 3-betting AAxx. Given his stack size, bu is likely bad. SB has some sort of wrap more often than AA so i guess you can get it in with K/Q blockers to the straight outs.

hand 2 - I don't like pre very much at all, like, you have a pair, an unconnected suited ace and you are not confident in how to play middle set. And you're deep. And deep + oop with a shit hand + without the initiative = You can fold pre just fine.

Hand 1 - fold with no read, no read 3 bet = aa

Hand 2 fold pre twice. As played, I guess get it in because your line looks a lot more like a draw than middle set. But if you decide to go with it I'd rather just go for the check bomb on the turn, what is the plan OTR if he flats this? All this is why you should just fold pre. sets in HU pots esp OOP just aren't that great.

In general smaller sets are read/dynamic based - vs some guys they just always have top set here, then there are some on the other side where you're never folding a set. If you don't know, play them small.

Agree with the other 2, very good answers.

Hand 1 - Pre, awesome hand to open from CO, after being 3bet by an unknown I'm not nearly as excited anymore. Pair + non-nut flush is not a great 3bet hand. The rundown is pretty nice. I'd probably never fold pre getting 4:1.

My Q, if BTN 3bets and it folds around and we are 80% this is AAxx do we find a fold?

Hand 2 - I don't like the turn lead at all. He is never folding a heart draw and not folding straight draws. This card is such a blank that if he could read hands at all what are you repping? He gets to play a small pot with his drawy/small hands, and is only raising big when you're dominated/flippish

Thank you for comments.
Hand 1
No reads in any direction on these opponents beside BU who actually is bad
I was thinking I could be against 2 pair and a wrap allthough I feared AAxx.

Hand 2
No good read, but opponent will probably bet also a draw. I see that then hand isn't too goo from my poor position. I could play this kind of hand from the button though, could't I?

Limped multiway pot. Opening. Yes. Vs a good tightish player probably not.

You basically have 2 HE hands that do not work together (actually work against). If you had Ad 6d 9c 9h your hand is much more playable because now you can flop a set with a flush draw. Still don't want to pay too much pre, but a much better hand

hand 1 - I forgot to add that the only reason that i think getting it in is ok is that the 3-bettor is short relative to you and the small blind, and of the two it is more likely that the button has top set.

hand 2 - you can play most hands from the button

Good point daven. Any others who have thoughts on the stack sizes here?
