Loose passive villain. Do you fire again on the turn to charge the flush draws, or check because of the board pair? I think this villain gets here with a lot of flush draws, but he probably doesn't raise a set on the flop either.

I would just call on the flop vs a passive player.

as played this seems fine. this is a terrible card since many QJx are now free rolling you for a full but I would think he has a bare FD (plus maybe a BW gutter) a ton here since he did not shove the flop.

I raised the flop expecting him to call with most flush draw hands, basically looking to make more the times that my hand holds up. Incorrect thinking?

we just disagree on what passive player means, I would consider him to be at least 'standard' aggressive if he bet this board without QJ or something like two pair+FD. Us having the Ad also makes it less likely he's got a FD he can call a raise with.

As long as he isn't creative enough to bluff the scare cards I think your line is probably optimal since you can do that and also get value as you said.
