Villain was 20/16 over the session, and at the time was showing quite a bit tighter than that even for the first 100 hands I had. I didn't think there were any 4xxx or 66xx hands in his range, based largely on the fact that I run similar numbers and there'd be none in mine. 78xx could be in there, but only rarely as I'm not sure I see him betting into 4 people (the other two fairly loose) with only a gutshot. I suppose there's an argument that based on this I should have repotted the flop.

first I think it's a crime to throw away any rundown OTB except like 5432 and I'm sure he'd play something like 8766ds or A654 with a suit. Plus 20/16 is pretty 'good' so I'm sure he understands position and is widening OTB

assuming he isn't bluffing, which doesn't make much sense here, the 5 is a great card for most of the hands that like the flop so I'd just give up and often I wouldn't even bother to call there. I'm not sure if you were bluffing or value betting but if you think he has KK you should just call him down, he can't really be drawing at you.

C/cing the flop here is so gross, yea it is 4 way but just bet/fold unless you have seen a player able to raise this flop without a 4. Once you c/c flop, turn is c/f for sure, you beat nothing at this point but a silly bluff so c/r is burning money. He could easily have KK4x, AKQ4ds, 4567ss, 8764ss, 4568ds, you get the idea. Overpairs in this situation are a one street hand for value as with most non nut hands on paired boards, there is nothing wrong with bet/folding this hand. Also keep in mind that you should be betting your air on this board as well to rep exactly what you have, so people will call with worse and draws so by c/cing here you become unbalanced, flip your hand face up and lose the money you could have made by betting the flop.
