first day playing PLO for me. having trouble converting the hand. dont really care about line play. my question is about showdown.

why is it that the guy with the ace of diamonds, second nuts, nobody holds the first nuts, not win this hand?

am i reading something wrong, or does PLO hand value differently than NLHE?

In Omaha you have to use 2 cards in your hand and 3 on the board, no more, no less. Therefore he doesn't have a flush because his hand would need to contain 2 diamonds.

2 cards from your own hand is the minimum and maximum (thus, the only) number of cards that can be used Generally, reading hands is pretty easy, but some straights can be elusive.

Say you have 4689 and the board reads 57T, you don't have a straight yet, but any 3, 4, 6, 8, 9 or J will give you a straight.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

It sure is My favorite hand is top set+flush draw on a straight board (like AsQsQx on QsJsT). Multi-way if possible *droools* I almost had one today, but my flush draw was only the 2nd nuts and one of the two all ins had the nut straight and nut flush draw
