Since I moved from ub to party, the tables are much looser. My hyperaggressive play worked great because of all the weak tight players. Not so on party. I got rocked today for about 60bb and looking over the hands the calling stations are relentless. Should I tone down the aggression, my total aggression is 3.06. My thinking is my play is right, I am just going to have higher variances. Any thoughts?

You got to pick your spots and figure out who is just going to have to see a hand or a turn/river card more often than not. Playerview does wonders for this. Also figure out how high of a betting standard they have if checked to. I've found that backing off with weak hands against weak players will sometimes get them to check behind with a better hand giving me a free/cheap re-draw or showdown.

Also be aware that some of the really bad players will play back at you with all kinds of weird stuff so you may have to pay-off more than you're used to.

Learn to know when to play certain types of hands. Most of your flops are going to be multiway, with more than a few opponents taking a look who like to pay off with any piece. You must learn to value bet. Your variance will be higher, but so will your profit. 60BB's is a bit atypical, but not by much. STOP BLUFFING. RIGHT NOW. NO MORE OF THAT. You lose the ability to bluff your opponents out of pots, but you gain the ability to value bet nearly 100& of your hands with a virtual certainty of being called and almost never raised.

If you never bluff, then he becomes weak-tight, which is counter-intuitive to your previos posts. Knowing WHEN to bluff becomes key. You cant bluff calling stations, but bluffing predictable rocks and tight-passives can be very profitable.

I would be more than willing to state that if you NEVER made a pure bluff at the party 2-4, you would still be a substantial winner, whereas a much higher than optimal bluffing frequency would quickly devestate your winrate. I agree that you must know when to bluff, but from the sounds of it, the original poster has probably grown into a somwhat looser than your average tight-aggressive player because of his metagame at UB, though ive only heard about those games, and never actually played in them. As he adjusts to this new metagame, he will be aquiring the skills, and more importantly, the notes, to better determine when a bluff is appropriate. Also, please note that my advice was in no way refering to the semi-bluff, which is still quite usefull at the party 2-4 game despite having a small fold equity, simply because so many semi-bluffs there also work as value bets.
