This past friday, Live action 10/20 limit at the borgata in AC.

Drunk dude sitting seat 10, im in seat 1. Maniac raises almost every single hand. Has shown down J5o, 92o, and a bunch of other crap and occasionally a good hand. I would normally love this guy on my right, but I was not getting very many playable hands and not hitting flops when I did.

Occasionally I would 3 bet him to get it down to heads up and lead out with a bet regardless of the flop, but it is a dangerous play against a maniac. One time I did that with AQ, flopped a Q, but maniac flopped a set of J's. Oops. It was starting to really get me pissed that I couldn't ever limp in, but I was trying to keep my tilt in check.

Anybody have any similar situations or advice on how to play against someone like this?

Online, I find a new table. I'm a firm believer in shooting from the HIP

Hight card power
Iiniative
Position

Having a really loose player acting after me takes away a lot of my favorite plays. You pretty much need to play rock tight, bet for value and make a few loose calls. Have your ATM card ready to reload and some racks for all the chips you'll inevitably pick up...

I say, keep paying off those set J hands. If you play TPTK like your AQ you will be taking his money most of the time.

Be wary of capping without the nuts. But keep playing him as you have and you will be taking his money most of the time.
I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.

Party time!

3-bet:
AJ/AQ/AK/KQ
maybe AT
A9s/ATs
77+
Jacks or better suited.
maybe Tens or better suited.

Adjust for position, etc.

Only fold to his bets heads up if it's hopeless. Ace high will do.

Sucks that the cards didn't come for ya.
