You can either fold to the flop raise or plan on going to showdown unless the action gets heavy on the turn or river. Calling the flop then folding the turn is probably the worst option.

Personally, I'm incllined to take this to showdown unless I see a really good reason not to. I'm certainly not folding TP on the flop to a single raise getting 12:1. BB could have a lot of worse 8s and FDs and occasionally will be doing something retarded with 77, etc. If he actually had a 3 he would do the standard 0.5/1 play and wait till the turn to raise. Who knows what the other two guys are doing? They could very well have something retarded like overcards or A highs.

LHE is a game where your skill keeps you breakeven until you hit your rush of random BS.

Nothing beats flopping quads while dropping a duece!

I fold this preflop most of the time. Nasty hand OOP.

I agree with checking the flop and seeing what develops and c./ring a button bet.

You're getting a bajillion to one to catch a Jack or an 8 which would probably be good to show down with.

Worst part is... calling the turn is arguably +EV since they all seem to be super passive feeshes.

When the pot gets HUUUUUUGE, you can always, always, always peel to the turn for one bet to try to hit 2pair or trips, and you can sometimes peel to the river for the same reason.

This is a HUUUUUUUGE pot.
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?
