This is a fairly common hand for me the lastweek or so.
Would anyone play it different?

anyways back to the hand.
if you had an incredible read you coulda probably guessed he had KQ. looking back he pumped the flop, and called the turn.
you 3bet the flop, and bet out the turn, so he doesn't have any reason to think you won't bet again on a safe non-flush river card. so...you could just call it down to save yourself 1 bet.

Yea but what about mp3?

These things keep happening within my first rotation or 2 at the table, so it happens before I have any types of reads.

actually looking at the history again there's no way UTG could hold KQ.
they have the nuts on the river if they have KQ, and they had a chance to cap it.

actually i wouldn't be surprised if you went up against a power hands like AA,KK,QQ,AKs.

i think you need to cap this after looking at it again. there's no way UTG or MP3 would play 23 out of position and not a blind. JT is possible but you have that beat. you have every logical hand beat except someone holding AA or KQ. MP3 may have you beat with KQ, but the pot is already 22BB at this point...what's one more bet?

Hands like this are why I have taken a break from NL ring games. I put a player on a hand, play them perfectly and destroy them; only to find that some dipshit calling station, that I put in the back of my mind, wakes up with a runner-runner monster to take half my stack.

He most likely does have KQ
Is that guy still part of the forum??

Putting people on hands is an exercise in futility. Put him on a range of hands and figure out if he would 3-bet the river with a worse hand.

Overall, well played.

UTG+2 has KQo for the nuts and doesn't know how to raise the river

Hero has Trip Jacks..

MP3, he's dumb He has A5o and went runner - runner for 2 pair while all but drawing dead on the flop, and definatly drawing dead on the turn.
