I'm playing short-handed 5draw lately, and I'm getting in the situation a lot where I have something like QK225 or AK456 in the SB.
I usually raise pot there. In both cases I usually keep the high cards if I get called and hope to make a decent pair. Otherwise my bluff frequency depends on what the opponent draws and how nitty he is.
I was wondering if this is correct.
I'm not sure what kind of a pair I'd rather keep there instead of keeping the overs. I'm guessing 99+ I can keep the pair, and not draw to a higher pair.

If your making a bluff then it is going to depend on how many cards you draw. The bluff is in the number of cards you keep and your betting frequency. After that keep the cards that give you the best chance to improve.

bluffing or not i would keep always my pair, low or high... you can draw other 3 cards and make another pair or three of a kind... and even if you make nothing you will have a pair, what is better than a high card... i always play like that and sometimes comes nothing and i have to fold, but comes a lot of what i said and i already make somes full houses too... but that is one in a hundred!

diseelinger, so you raise in the small blind with 8's and get called. You draw 3 and don't improve. What do you do post flop? for the sake of argument lets say he takes 1 card.

If opp drew one and you did not improve check it, if he bets the decision of calling or folding is based on villian's past behavior, if he draws one from the BB it is often IMO str8 draw or FD, as he would probably reraise with 2 pair
