...or that's my impression.
PokerStars 0.02/0.04 Hold'em (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)
Preflop: Hero is Button with A , K .
UTG raises, 1 fold, MP1 3-bets, 2 folds, Hero calls, 1 fold, BB calls, UTG calls.
Flop: (12.50 SB) 5 , Q , 9 (4 players)
BB checks, UTG bets, MP1 raises, Hero calls, BB folds, UTG 3-bets, MP1 caps, Hero calls, UTG calls.
Turn: (12.25 BB) Q (3 players)
UTG bets, MP1 raises, Hero calls, UTG calls $0.03 (All-In).
River: (18 BB) 4 (3 players, 1 all-in)
MP1 bets, Hero folds.
Final Pot: 17.75 BB
It was one of those sessions. My VP$IP was 22.64 and I won precisely zero of the pots to which I contributed. On the very last hand of the session I was in the BB and everyone folded so my only "win" was one-half of one small bet. Yippee. I could try to blame it on variance but when I ended up folding several hands on the river I know I'm overplaying weak hands, specifically high-quality hole cards that flopped on the flop but had *something* to draw me on, like this flush draw, a backdoor fill-in-the-blank, or willful disregard for a pair on the board.

Cap it pre-flop, 3-bet the flop. The big streets are fine.
Limit hold'em is a gambling game, you need to keep putting money into the pot when you're getting a good deal and raising with the best of it.

Thanks, Fnord.
Obviously I wasn't going to scare him off (and wouldn't want to slow play in any case). I guess I had a morale dip. I'll get used to it.
