Nah, I've been having some sucky luck of late, which combined with my chronic leaks meant that I've chucked away lots over the last month or so.

Tonight I sat down determined to play a couple hundred hands of my best poker. I had SSHE open on the pre-flop section and I promised myself I'd get out of those "I'm probably lost but let's see" nightmares I get myself into.

Well, I don't know how good the poker was... but I felt good. First orbit I got AA beaten by AK which made a straight on the river. But I thought to myself the only way I could have played it better was to fold the river and that would have been stoopid.
So down $12 or so, oh no, another one of THOSE sessions I thought.

Then I entered luckbox mode and it went very nicely thereafter.

Finished $85 up tonight (was $100 but got rivered on the last orbit by Q4o... which probably says something about the standard of opposition).

Anyway, here's my month's stats so far. Completely meaningless other than to remind me that swings happen and there are good days even for fish like me

Don't know how much is luck, how much was effort and how much was that it was the friday-night gamboool crowd

But anyway:


If I had that BB/100 at the end of the month (10-15k hands) I'd be a very happy man.
Heck, if I'm $60 up at the end of the month I'd be fairly chuffed.

Nothing great postionwise, but BB is now at -0.23BB/hand, which is an improvement.

Nice post, A. It's good to hear someone narrate their poker experience in some detail--doesn't always have to be content heavy. btw, you write well--ever thought about blogging?
